Acoustica 7.0.18

Acoustica Editor's Review

Acoustica is a semi-professional, low cost sound engineering tool which enables you to record files, then edit them and finally save them in the format you need using sample rates up to 96000 samples/seconds at a resolution of 32 bit/sample.

You can record your tracks using multiple inputs such as CDs, Aux, Line in, microphone, phone, mono out, wave out mix and monitor your input level. You can separate the recording into tracks automatically or manually, remove clicks or noise, you can also add reverberation or equalize the recording. You can save your restored tracks as audio files, open them as editing windows or insert them into a new CD project. You can split tracks and automate the splitting process if necessary. The progran ca be used for tape casette recording and cleaning of tracks in order to be burnt on CD.

Pluses: Acoustica includes parametric EQ, digital effects such as reverb, pitch shifting, and chorusing, a surprisingly good time stretcher, support for all audio file formats, and (new) the ability to burn CDs of your material from within the program. DirectX and VST plug-ins allows you to use tools and effects from other third party manufacturers directly from Acoustica.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: A convenient solution for audio editing and mastering, with lots of useful features and easy to use interface. And if you are an audio editing rookie, you can revert to the wizard which will guide you step by step through any task.
